18/06/2008 - end of season stats
As far as I can manage it all the stats for last season are complete. There are stats missing for assissts as memory has not retained the info. But goals and appearances are pretty much up to date.
Fantasy points are not inputted as it is far too much work for me or Gavin.

Challum said at the start of the season - 'we will make us harder to beat', i think that is reflected in this seasons results! We have got remarkably better, in fact we never finished last! I think that this goes to show that we are beginning to find our feet and are really pushing to give it our all, for one i can say that i am proud to play with and for Parkhead Tollcross United!

07/06/2008 - Churches League AGM
I went to the AGM on thursday and while there were no big changes, i feel that i wish to let you know some of the things that went down.
ICC have left the Churches League from Div 1, 5 new teams applied and 3 have been accepted, Sherwood-Greenlaw have renaimed - St. Ninians. This means a change in the division set up. 3 Teams from Div 2 will be promoted and 1 relegated in to Div 3. 4 Teams Promoted from Div 3 (Claremont, Trinity, Burnside, CEC2). This creates 3 divisions with 14 teams in each. There is a possiblilty for the season 2009/10 that 4 divisions would be created allowing for 6 more teams to come in over the coming years. If this is the case then it would be cool if we had an awesome season and remained in div 3 rather than face the prospect of being re-formed into div 4.
Other news, refs will now be paid £35 a game instead of £30 (fuel hikes)
We are unable to register any players for any team after 31st March of each season.
Reg fees for teams remain the same £160
Insurance to SAFA £95
Public Liability Insurance £40
That being £295 in total per team, which makes it imperitive that everyone pays their own registration fee on time when asked.
New Teams are: Craighalbert (Cumbernauld), Motherwell Ebeneezer and Troon Seagate.
That is all.

19/04/2008 - Reaction from Saturday
After leaving last time's less than satisfied message I want to encourage you all a little.
There was a much better shape about defense and midfield: better lines of four. Chris' kicking and handling was good and generally the defense coped well with the bombardment we faced. We lost team goals rather than defenders carrying the blame.
Corners: gavin would be better on a post than cathal as Gavin is slighter and ,although he was there, he was just muscled out of it.
Second goal: from our throw we conceded possession and were put on the backfoot. The through ball and finish were of a decent standard. To have stopped that goal we needed to put the throw down the line. Wait till the team is set when we have set pieces in defensive areas and don't put it infield unless the reciever is wanting it and is free.
Third goal: well not a lot more Niall could have done and then a great finish.
Again we eventually made chances as the game progressed: the forwards had to work hard: they were not caught offside too often which is one of our biggest weaknesses and kept showing for passes.
We are more stubborn and showing more endurance in games than the start of this calendar year. We have a bigger squad as well with Darren, GT and Richard not playing this week.
Selection headaches!!!
One area of real contention for me is this: how can I seriously organise the team when we are continually late? Think of the last 3 games: West Glasgow, Sherwood and EK. Baptist. When did I first speak to us as a team: half time. Ok things like cars breakdown and trains steal your boots but in general this needs to improve. We have started the last two games poorly and even the chat before the game is at times showing a lack of concentration. We should be talking about the game and thinking about our own contributions and encouraging each other.
I really want us to put in a big effort in our own home game against Auchenfoyle. Lets see if we can get that elusive victory soon.

17/04/2008 - Saturday v EK Baptist
Ok so we got a point out of the West Glasgow game but...
I was gutted at the lack of effort and know how by some of the team in this game and a return to errors and sloppiness that had decreased markedly prior to this game. There were people like Colin and GT running their hearts out whilst others simply failed to get near men they were meant to be marking.
In short we made them look like a good team: I mean sometimes they took a throw and it went to their player unchallenged even though there was someone within 10 yards. We started both halves very poorly and when we got on top showed a lack of composure. I am so annoyed at myself for not cutting the ball to Graeme that I have not even spoken about it since. But that is the issue with some people in the team they walk off the pitch after making errors and blame others in the team: please be annoyed at yourself first.
I was so pleased at Kenny taking on board what i have said and making a near post run when someone got wide. Strikers should be turning crosses into chances by the runs they make: if you stand at the back post hoping for the perfect cross you will not score unless the wide man puts in an inch perfect ball that misses out keeper and defender.
EK Baptist are a team that are about the standard of Sherwood; make no mistake we could have got more against Sherwood on a different day. we can certainly make a fist of this game but only if all of us play with heart from the start.
I will likely be giving Kerr and Johnny a chance to show what they can do: they have showed commitment and real effort whilst on the pitch.
The game is on grass at Stonefield Pitches beside Blantyre Sports centre
